The IFSA runs Region 2, which includes the Americas. Region 1 is Europe, Asia & Oceania. The best from each region, those top ranked by a certain cut off date for point accumulations, compete in an end of season Challenger Series- which includes FWT athletes trying to keep their spot on the tour. The winners of those series get invited to the following season’s Freeride World Tour.

The FWQ25 schedule was released November 1st. This year the Qualifiers start mid January 2025.
For the FWQ24 season I competed in all 4 4*s, all 2 3*s & 1 2* event. These 7 events cost ~$1,300 in registration fees alone. Most of the top athletes did more events, a few others less. While a series sponsorship would be huge, individual events ranged from $100-$250.
Athlete discounted tickets are offered for each event- pricing, & the amount of days offered at that price, varies per resort. Most offer a Friends & Family rate too.
An Epic or Ikon Pass sponsorship would save the need to purchase tickets at most resorts on the schedule, ~$800 for each. However, it can be up to $200 for a single day lift

I moved to Springfield, Missouri in January of 2024. I learned there are 2 Missouri ski resorts 3-4 hours away. I’m looking forward to checking those out for the 1st time in their short span of being open from Christmas til the beginning of February.
It’s going to be harder than ever keeping my now 8 year snowboarding once a month streak going & competing for the Freeride World Tour from the Midwest, but I’m up for the challenge & need sponsors now more than ever.
For my 1st FWQ season, I was living out of my car, a 1999 Honda CR-V I purchased in January for the 2021 tour. It’s pictured here at my very 1st FWQ comp, the Grand Targhee 2*. The engine blew on my way back to Gunnison from Purgatory Resort’s closing day 5/14/23.

I purchased a 2004 Honda Pilot 7/18/23, which I nicknamed HA-PPY.. Gilmore… because we both needed sponsors with it having 240k+ miles. HA-PPY’s engine blew in between Breckenridge & Taos competitions this year.
I decided to use the little money I had to put towards a downpayment vs another cheaper vehicle that might not last me as long again. I’m incredibly grateful to join #TeamToyota (not officially sponsored by @ToyotaUSA… yet).
The 2024 season provided me my 1st time flying for a competition, which was my 1st time ever to Canada for Revelstoke & Kicking Horse 4* stops. While there, I rented & stayed in a minivan through Enterprise.
I was also able to fly to the Snowbird 4* competition where I was fortunate enough to stay with friends.

Both trips were with United Airlines & paid via Affirm- an online monthly payment option- I’m still paying them off.
The 2025 season includes the return of these 3 4*s- each has a corresponding 2* also.

Endless gratitude to the friends & family who have let me stay with them while traveling to train & compete for these events.

I also don’t mind ”roughing it” with my Colman classic camping stove, bringing things from home or supporting local grocers & farmers markets. Brands like Coleman, Yeti, Goal Zero, Honda, Toyota, Yakima & Airstream are dream sponsors.
